Allways very friendy and helpful
Everyone who works there is always super nice. They have a lot of good food there. The prices are also very good. Sometimes the produce isn't as fresh and that is the only thing that makes me put it at four. It is a great store.
I have been by this food lion on starkey 3 times in the past 2 weeks. The first time I came by and noticed one of my favorite items (a particular can of mixed nuts) wasn’t stocked. I asked the manager if he could check for me why and he said he would get on it and let me know something next time I came in the store.. I go to a lot of food lions and I found out through the store over on Grandin that they got rid of that particular can of mixed nuts. The Grandin location told me as soon as I asked... didnt have to wait or anything. When I came back to this starkey location the 2nd time, I happened to see this manager and asked him again about the can of mixed nuts. He said he didn’t have a chance to ask anyone yet but next time he saw me, he would definitely let me know... well the 3rd time.. I went looking. and the manager ..you guessed it... still hadn’t figured out what happened to the can of mixed nuts. Wow.. just wow. The very first time I asked the people at the Grandin rd location they told me immediately.. this Food lion on starkey couldn’t tell me anything..3 visits and 2 weeks later.. maybe it was just the particular manager I dealt with.. but this store is one of the poorest ones I’ve been in Roanoke. Employees at checkout at this Starkey location are also never friendly.

Clean, well stocked but im in agreeance with another reviewer. customer service leaves a lot to be desired. i stop by once a week while in the area. The associates only sometimes smile. once i asked for help. they said they would help and didnt. they just walked away and didnt come back. Another issue is my daughter used to work here before going to school at W&M (william and mary) i mentioned her name once to a manager here and the manager said they never had anyone at their store by that name. i said are you sure? he replied he was sure because he remembered everyone. obviously his memory isnt as good as he thinks because i stopped by this starkey road store several times when my daughter was working and saw her with my own eyes. i even showed the manager a picture of her in her uniform and he said he never knew her. That is pathetic. i saw another reviewer state they were called a fake when they said they were an ex employee here. i wouldnt trust anyone here when it comes to ex employees. if they cant remember my daughter they memory has problems.. . period. I was a little offended hearing the manager say he didnt remember either. as if to say my daughter was insignificant. I wont be shopping here anymore.
