I initially had coverage through Farm Bureau, however their rates were fluctuating and were never consistent. There was an accident on my record that had nothing to do with as I wasn't even present during the time of the accident and it shot my rates up. I switched to Geico and the agent Chris was able to get everything situated for me and gave me a rate that was $80 cheaper than my previous plan. Not only do I have a great rate but the Geico app is extremely useful and convenient. I would recommend these guys 10 times out of 10!
Can you say bait and switch? I bound an auto policy at $87 a month with the local Roanoke office after a complete review of my MVD history. Three days later I received an email saying my rate had increased to $143 a month after an additional review of the same information. The real kicker here is that I was already insured through GEICO auto so you would think they would have a good handle on my driving history!!! When I called Lisa to ask for an explanation - the local office no longer wants to be involved and they transfer me from 800# to 800# for the usual hollow apologies and canned responses. I would suggest using a competing company who at least has the integrity not to do the bait and switch.
I have insurance with Geico. I have the package with home owners. My husband filed a claim on lightening striking the well pump. We had to send the pump out of town to a lab. Once they checked the pump over and admitted to lightening had damaged the well. They refused to pay for the new pump that we had installed and paid for which was over a 1,000. The reason they refused was because the pump was old. Even though, it worked fine up to that point. The company that installed the new pump wrote a letter along with the pump to verified the lighting was the caused of damage. I have the right policy but the wrong insurance company.
