Nice open source. Was there for an event so didn't see much of the art.
Next time we are in town I will return and I would highly recommend it to others.
Lots of good exhibits here. You can spend a pretty good amount of time here. They usually have a limited time exhibit so you should go back more than once. I would also recommend going up to the balcony. From the balcony you can see the coffee, Dr. Pepper, and the star all in one view.
Went to this museum on Memorial Day weekend, loved it, very interesting exhibits too when I walked around. Admission was free too to boot considering it was the holiday weekend when I stopped by. The gift shop near the entrance was a big plus when I walked in considering my girl wanted me to get her something, which I did and she loved it when I gave it to her with some help from the lady who was running the gift shop. Count on me stopping by again next year Memorial Day weekend when I head down I-81 to Roanoke!
We are from out of town and I took my 2 children (ages 4 and 18 months) to the Art Venture area (we only went to the Art Venture area) and we had a really great time. They had a nice selection of art and science based activities that BOTH my children enjoyed and were able to interact with.
The space wasn't the largest, but they made very good use of that space. There were costumes and a stage to put on a play, magnets, puzzles, general art supplies, magnatiles, a 3D printer, and just loads of other activities.
This is a very small museum, but they do a lot with just a small space. The art is constantly changing and the unique building offers an eye catching aesthetic to the community. My kids have taken art classes here and really enjoyed themselves! Parking isn't always available up close, so be prepared for the possibility of hunting for a space, depending on when you visit, and what events are happening at the time.
