I decided to pay a visit to Ashley after my daughter had spoken so highly of her experience selecting furniture in the Roanoke store. She had recommended her consultant Aeyla, who had come highly recommended to her. I am so ecstatic that I was actually able to catch Aeyla on a Monday evening. She spent a good deal of time walking me around the store and explaining many different facets of each piece. Did I mention she even offered her own personal time on her days off to come back and assist in my selections? She also had already stayed about 30 minutes after closing with me. She was able to pick items from a few different vignettes and create a beautiful living space for my family room. Her creativity with colors & design styles, as well as her overwhelming knowledge allowed me to leave completely satisfied and wanting to refurnish every room in my house. I will most certainly be back to spruce up a few more rooms after all my Christmas shopping is done! EXCELLENT!!
It's a sad day, during "Ashley's Biggest Sale of the Year," when their website has the same bedroom set for $200 less than their in-store pricing, and then when you ask for the store to waive delivery to semi-compensate the difference, you're told "We're already losing money on this stuff, because it's a 'door buster deal'" (meaning only 10% more off than their everyday sale pricing, clearly stated on their own website); to make it even better, they 1) wouldn't trade out one chest for another in the same series (even though it was an add in) 2) they tried to up-sell my family the extra warranties that we got for free when buying from a different company. They are NOT losing money, even at their 'door buster pricing,' (which was very intellectually insulting to say to a customer) but because they didn't waive delivery, we walked and we found a much better deal on the same package, with the specific chest we wanted, we got free white glove delivery and the five year extended warranty that they absolutely would not budge on. In short, over not waiving a $99 dollar delivery charge, they lost the entire deal, and we, as consumers, came out far better by buying from a different company, online. Companies like this are the reason that Brick and Mortar stores either evolve or die. Just like another store that closed in that same area a while back, I'm sure they won't be there much longer, either, with those practices. Won't even give them the chance to match the deal, now, because we never should've had to look elsewhere.
I have visited other furniture stores in the same location but when I walked into the showroom I was greeted and helped with great respect and knowledgeable sales associates. I bought over $5000 in furniture and it is beautiful. Extremely happy with Ashley Furniture!!!
My wife I and purchased a bedroom suite, mattress, rug, and lamp from Ashley Furniture in Roanoke. Our salesman Steve Hunsley couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. He was patient with us and not pushy. The entire staff was pleasant and even stayed late so we could complete our order. Definitely would recommend them to friends and family!
