If your going to visit Roanoke, then a visit to the star is a must! This historic landmark is a great way to end the night on a romantic date or just to spend time with friends and family. With two outlooks, one can see the vast landscape of the Roanoke Valley. At night the luminous lights are relaxing and peaceful even though they are reflections of the busy cars and night life in the city. During the day, the star is a great place to hike with a trail that goes from the top to the bottom of the mountain. There's a mini park for kids and the Mill Mountain zoo as well. I personally like to sit in the park area and look up at the large oak trees, and breath the fresh mountain air. Definitely, go and see for yourself!

The wife and I checked this out in mid-October of 2017. We were not disappointed. The view from the main overlook is even better than the pictures. The Star is massive up-close. A must-visit when in Roanoke.
