This is an honest, unsolicited review.
Suggestions:
What a disappointment. The first week inquiring about a vehicle I was told it would be ready in 1 to 2 days. No. 1 week later I was told it wasn't ready, and that a previous "good client" wanted it, but lost the key... and they were waiting to replace it in '1 to 2 days.' Another week later I was told it was sold, but then it wasn't, in fact, sold, and they just were "held up." I've been by this lot and have never even seen the vehicle there. I had hopes for this establishment, but my experience was a total waste of time. 1 star is too much, but is necessary to teach the public the truth.
Run by great, honest and selfless people. They have a wide variety of cars and prices. They have very good prices and services.
1) Wouldn't hurt to have your mechanic look at it if possible so you know what to expect, but honestly all cars have issues at some point anyway.
My experience was fantastic. Harrison was patient with a crazy loan process and never showed signs of frustration. The car was clean and he gladly took care of the one issue with a promise to follow up. The prices were the best I've found, especially for comparable vehicles in the area. The other staff members were extremely friendly and helpful.
2) Check the oil! Even though they got it done for us they were forced to use a new place to keep their promise and have it ready on time, and the new guy neglected to add oil! After driving the car home we checked it on a whim and it was bone dry! No harm done thankfully. We called right away, and they agreed to reimburse us for another oil change, which they did when they mailed us the title. Great on their part!
We had driven to Roanoke to look at cars all afternoon and happen to drive past their lot. We saw a very clean Subaru Forester they had just finished detailing and we took it for a test driving. After talking price with the owner we were relieved to have finally found a car that fit our needs and mostly in our price range.
4.5 Stars for Affordable Auto. (Suggestions at end of thorough review!) I would use Affordable Auto Sales again and I have recommended them to friends.

The vehicle had not yet been inspected since they had just received it, but they promised they would take care of the inspection and an oil change as soon as the shops were open the next day. The owner and staff were very polite, pleasant to chat with, were even able to work with us a little on price, and gave us a 30 day warranty in case of any major issues! We have had the Subaru for about 2 months now and we drove it from VA to Maine and back. We also had it looked at after purchase by 2 different places, and while they did find some minor issues that may need attention down the road it is overall a really good used car, which fits our needs. This was our first experience buying a vehicle from any kind of dealership, so we have been cautious the whole time but had a good experience.
Such a great and professional team they have here. I've done a lot of research and have looked for the most trustworthy dealer with reasonable prices from Boone, NC to Lynchburg all the way up to Huntington, WV. This dealer was so helpful and kind and reassured me he would do whatever was possible to help me get the car I needed. His whole team was genuine and really impressed me and my friends when we went to test drive the car and everything exceeded my expectations. I will definitely choose him again after graduate school and I'm excited for his teams second dealership opening soon. If it sounds too good to be true, get to know the source. A+
