A great find for fans of dive restaurants! Turn back your clock to 1903. They serve 100 people , 10 at a time. The foot rests for the stools are half worn through! Plenty of food for hardly any money. Great comfort food. Excellent relish. Watch the cook do his magic on the two-burner hot plate in the front window.
Great little hole in the wall. Hot dogs were fantastic - and cheap! Great late night menu and very affordable. Limited seating so it probably gets busy at times and at the time I went, it took a while to pay my bill because the employees were in the back for a long time. Would return for a quick bite in downtown Roanoke.
This place is worth the price of admission (and that's a really low price). Can't complain about a cheeseburger for $1.60. I recommend getting everything on it. This place makes me imagine what McDonald's must have been like when it served real burgers (however, there are no french fries). Grab a stool and listen to the comedic banter between the wait staff, oscillating from topics like a server's ex-wife, to his time as a roadie, to speculations about where the tap water comes from. The food is filling and pretty tasty: just your basic hot dogs, chile, and burgers, along with a soda fountain and prepackaged desserts and snacks. They also serve breakfast. No customers spent more than $15 during our last two visits. We hear the place gets really interesting when the bars let out, but we haven't witnessed that yet.
Chilli was dry and thinned out with hot water. Hygiene is something they know nothing about. Prices are way to high for this dump.they keep hiring dirty little young punks with no class.they don't get your order right. Be careful your hamburger might move.I said one star that was one to many.That's not even the best hot dog around the block must less in town.The place stinks. Hire some real people to get it back where it used to be.
Great piece of old school Americana fair. Super friendly service and great tasting burger options. A must for late night fun and grub
