Great authentic Louisiana French quarter style food and atmosphere. Everything on the menu is a must try. The bar is fully stocked with premium booze and the best bartenders in downtown Roanoke. If you go to the bar ask for Rainey she's the best!
The quarter has potential. The staff and management are super nice. Tried to order crawfish etouffee, which is sort of a staple at any bayou joint, they were out, ordered the salmon instead. Salmon came out and was very small for $18 price tag. Was supposed to be plated with mashed potatoes (which are killer good) but came with a scoop of rice and a scoop of broccoli. I do not mind paying good money for food if there is value on the backend. Ended up sending this back, and tried to order a burger, but they were fresh out. So i ordered the quarter po boy. The manager on duty cut the price of this in half for my troubles (which was extremely appreciated), but this sandwich seemed like a deli sandwich with no sauce. Wasn't very pleased with it to say the least. My wife had The crab cake sliders (which tasted to me like The salmon patties I had as a kid with salmon from a can, not bad for salmon patties, but terrible crab cakes) The gumbo was dynamite and my cocktail was good, with plenty of liquor in it. Overall the staff gets 4 stars, the cocktail gets 3, but the food gets 0.5 stars from me, which is why the 2 star rating. Only go here if you want to drink. I was super excited to go, as I had never been here before, but left feeling sort of let down.
I had the red beans and rice and it was amazing. It was the best I’ve ever hade and I have had some good red beans and rice. It is hard to describe it is just very good. The restaurant atmosphere was also good and they have neat things on the walls. The location is also very good and is right in downtown. I would recommend this to someone looking for a quick bite downtown.
I had the Greenbrier sandwich it was amazing! One if the best sandwiches I have ever had! The live music was awesome! I will come here again!
We had gator bites, crab, gumbo, jumbolya and shrimp and grits. Everything was perfect. This place is a must.
