If you care about your pets DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE.This is why:
Thankful for EVS & the services they provide after hours & on weekends. Have needed them on multiple occasions - always helpful!
I met two vets. The first night's vet was extremely nice, however the next day's vet was rude and accusatory in manner when speaking with me. Additionally, the receptionist told me "it has been picked up" referring to my dog being picked up my the crematorium after we had to euthanize her. She was my dog, had a name, and isn't a package. "It" is callous and insensitive. We have euthanized many dogs, as we do hospice and senior dog adopting solely, but without a doubt, EVS made this the worst one of them all
I needed to have my baby finally put to rest so after I got off the phone I called Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory. I spoke with Kristina, who was WONDERFUL!! She listened to my whole story. I asked if they could go get my puppy and cremate her for me. She was not only apologetic but not even an hour later she let me know she had her and she would call me when she was ready to be picked up. I received a call the very next afternoon, it was Kristina letting me know my baby was ready! Anyone who wants to get their pet cremated I HIGHLY recommend you use them. They are very considerate of your feelings and are not only good with handling your fur babies, but also consoling the human parents as well. A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders knowing that she was no longer in a freezer at the awful place we took her to. Now she is in good hands at a place that LOVES and CARES about animals.
This “emergency vet” is AWFUL. I have never (thank goodness) had to take my animals to the emergency vet because their vet has been open and I hope I will NEVER have to use this vet again. Our puppy (that we had raised from birth) had to be put to sleep do to kidney failure. We had to keep calling and calling about how she was doing never a call from them until we called our vet. The one time they call is when they tell us there is nothing else they can do. My husband says let me talk to my wife. We called back and said we wanted to have her cremated. We had already pd $500.00 the SAME call they ask how would you like to pay can you come by the office today or Tomorrow????? I guess they have no heart since they deal with this all the time but they should take into consideration their CUSTOMERS and our animals are like our children we do grieve. They call my husband and ask if he can pay, he asks have you sent her to be cremated they say no they have not done anything as of yet. This happened the beginning of September. Like my husband said the way they treat everyone how do we even know that the ashes we get back are even our puppies. I hope whoever is reading this NEVER has to go to this money hungry place!!!!!!!!
I noticed my puppy who I raised from birth, wasn’t eating or drinking and she just wasn’t herself so on Sunday my husband and I took her to Emergency Veterinary Services. The receptionist was rude which didn’t really bother me at the time, I just brushed it off and told my husband maybe he’s just having a bad day or they are really busy. They took my puppy to the back and said they would like to keep her overnight to give her fluids and see if that helps, so we agreed. We had to call and check on her the whole time she was there. We never once received a call from them UNTIL we called them to see if we could take her to our normal vet since we weren’t feeling so great about their services. The emergency vet then called us back to tell us my puppy is not going to make it that her kidneys were failing and proceeded to ask us what we would like to do. At this point, (you would think that an emergency vet would know she wasn’t getting better and not want to continue to keep her another night unless of course if they just want more money) I am balling on the phone because I am heartbroken as my puppy was part of my family. My husband asked if we could call them back. He called back and let them know we wanted her to be cremated and in the middle of stating this they had the nerve to ask “would you like to pay your balance over the phone.” My husband did not want to give his card information over the phone, so the vet then proceeded to ask “would you be able to come in tomorrow and pay.” REALLY??? There was no sympathy at all she was only worried about when we could make payment. Obviously, at this time I’m a mess, my puppy just had to be put to sleep, and then having to deal with these inconsiderate people that have NO sympathy! I let it go though at that time because I couldn’t deal with much more so I thought okay, they will have her cremated and we will pick her up when we pay our balance. WELL…the “nice” billing woman calls my husband a couple weeks later and asks him if he could pay. He asked her has my puppy been cremated. She then says no we have to have payment first..Are you serious???? Now it’s not even about the money anymore. I called them the next day and spoke to the “nice” woman in billing. I tried to explain what all happened because I wasn’t sure that she knew the whole situation. Not only did she try to interrupt me from the very beginning, but automatically had an attitude as well. I asked if someone hasn’t paid their balance do you keep all their animals in a freezer until they can pay. She then says “unfortunately we do”. I let her know I thought they were so inconsiderate about people’s feelings and all they care about is money so she starts yelling at me telling me everything I say is wrong and she is sorry I feel this way. She was defensive from the start. Obviously, I’m not the first person that has called her complaining from the way she sounded. After getting off the phone with her I felt so awful for not taking my puppy elsewhere to have her cremated (which I thought this disgusting place had already done).
Caring, understanding, compassionate. Thank you all for your help with our beloved cat Oliver. He will be greatly missed but you guys really treated him and our family like we were your family. Thank you.
