I had reserved a car for my trip ahead of time with Avis since they had a cheaper rate then (by about $20). However, I mistakenly reserved for a week later than my actual trip. When trying to resolve the situation, Avis had then adjusted their rates up by about $100 since I was effectively a walk-in so I'd have to pay the extra $100 to get anything then call their support desk to cancel (ugh!). I double checked with Hertz whose rate had dropped about $100 at that point, so I canceled my incorrect Avis reservation (lost $50 to a fee which was just crap), but I still came out ahead by about $30 from what I originally had budgeted from my Avis reservation.
Overall I'm a happy customer, but if their online location info had been correct, and the quote had just been the $100 lower rate I eventually got, the whole thing would have been avoided.
Are you KIDDING ME?! THERE'S DOG HAIR IN THE BACK SEAT OF THIS CAR! Clean your cars before you rent them out to others! This is unacceptable! How they handle this will depend on if I change my review or not. Either way this is NOT an okay mistake.
The service was very nice and willing to work with me in my somewhat panicked state which was a relief. Their website claimed that this location doesn't let you drop off early (they open at 8am and I had a 6am flight out), but they do have a drop box which worked fine for me so don't worry if you see that. It's just a mistake online. Also, they had an additional $200 hold on my card when I booked so beware if you're close to your budget, but the hold never goes through so long as you return the car as specified without any incidents.
Great experience in the end and a decent rate.
Very low price at the time, and since there was a bit more selections in the lot they allowed me to pick from there fleet. Which was really awesome. I was 30 minutes late they were not upset at all and no extra charge either.
Good rental experience with easy pickup and return.
