Hotel was clean, convenient, and quite. Beds were comfortable. In the middle of restaurants and shopping. Pool was well taken care of and exercise area up to date. The staff friendly, helpful, and all from the Roanoke area. Staff was ready with directions and recommendations of sites and how to get there.
My recent stay was EXTREMELY unpleasant. There was a massive power outage that caused the air and lights not to work during my stay. Although I understand it’s not the establishments fault or error, their consideration for empathy towards my family and I was zero. There wasn’t any talk of any sort of appeasement or refund. I even explained that I had a 14 hour drive the next day and didn’t get any rest.I really felt like the staff could have been a bit more considerate towards our stay.
We are doing a road trip across the Southeast for summer vacation with our 9 year old. This is by far the best place we have stayed . Very clean, spacious, and quiet. Great location next to a ton of restaurants, shopping, and a movie theater. There is also a small guest laundry room downstairs in case you need to do laundry. The front desk staff were so helpful and very polite. Highly recommended!
Will never stay at this hotel again. The first morning I left for breakfast the maid caught me on the way out of the room. Made a comment about us "not getting our room cleaned for 2 days" but I had checked in the night before. The same day, the maid accused me of smoking in my room (i don't smoke and the whole hotel is non-smoking)but she didn't speak to me about it. She went to my friends room and complained to them about it saying she was going to have the supervisor look into it. I only heard about it when I met with my friends for lunch and THEY told me. Apparently someone had smoked in the stairwell at the end of the hall but she decided to gossip about it with guests and talk to them about me including telling them my room number. My friends also had problems with the cleaning staff. They would ask for towels/tp etc. and they would not be brought. When they reminded them, they were told "you never asked for them". They had to take out their own trash after two days when they didn't even have the do not disturb sign in. When I checked out, the front attendant was on her cell phone.
The receptionist was friendly and informative. I was happy to see a microwave and mini-frige in our room. The cleanliness and appearance of the room was a 10/10. I hope to come back again!
